Patience Keeps Us On The Right Path
All my life I have expected instant gratification with no work behind it, whether it be wanting a toy as a kid, wanting to be a professional skateboarder overnight, or wanting my feelings to disappear. Drugs were the first thing that gave me the instant gratification that I needed to rid myself of those feelings. The problem was that those feelings got worse and worse with each day. My habitual use of drugs and constant numbing of my feelings is what landed me at South Orange County Detox and Treatment, where I have learned that I need to practice more patience. Patience wasn’t a word found in my vocabulary when I was using. If I am being honest, I still struggle with patience. However, I’ve learned that patience and hard work can lead to true progress and success. If you are living life in a rush, then you might as well plan for failure. Patience properly molds the future and keeps us on the right path.
