My Journey- An Epic Rollercoaster

My journey in life has been an epic roller coaster of chaos and discipline. I’ve seen the world through two different sets of eyes. What I mean by this is that I have lived life through my false-self and my true-self. My journey of living life through my false-self has been when I’m in active addiction. When I’m walking around in a spinning washing machine of utter doom. In this false-state, I’m possessed by an invisible demon controlling my thoughts and actions. But there’s a lighter side of life journey; A light at the end of a tunnel. In my journey of living life through my true-self I’m healthy and active in my recovery. This is the true journey that I was put on the beautiful planet earth to live.  I see life though my bright blue eye, giving back what has been so freely given to me. In this state I have hope to wake up every day with a smile on my face and I go to bed each night knowing I won’t wake up dope sick, needing drugs to make me feel normal. Today, I’m grateful to God that I’m alive. I’ve been given another chance to live life through my true-self, through my true-eyes. I know that where I take this journey is up to me but through hard-work and dedication I’m certain that I will stay clean and sober and actually be the son, brother, and friend that I was meant to be. This is my great journey in life.
